Calumpit, Plaridel and Guiguinto towns win best SK Federations in the province
CITY OF MALOLOS – In an aim to recognize the accomplishments of youth federations during the pandemic, the Provincial Government of Bulacan headed by Governor Daniel R. Fernando and Vice Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado through the Provincial Youth, Sports and Public Employment Service Office (PYSPESO) recognized the projects and efforts made by the members of the Sangguniang Kabataan federations in the province recently through the “Youth Commitment during Quarantine” (YCQ) online awarding program.
According to Atty. Kenneth Ocampo-Lantin, head of PYSPESO, the program which was part of the YouthTube (Youth Talakayan, Ugnayan, Balitaan, Etc…) program, was participated by 24 SK federations in Bulacan wherein each group prepared video presentations containing all the projects and numerous efforts that they have done to help and support their community during the enhanced community quarantine period in the province.
The video entries were uploaded on the PYSPESO facebook page and the one with the most number of heart reactions will win and will be awarded with plaques, certificates, cash prizes and boxes of face masks, face shields and alcohol for their community.
Accordingly, the SK Federation of Calumpit headed by SK President Lance De Jesus with Ms. Lorena Centeno, Local Youth Development Officer (LYDO) won the first place with a total of 4.3K heart reactions and took home P7,000 cash prize; while the SK Federation of Plaridel landed on second place led by SK President Aimee San Gabriel and LYDO Jeffrey Gliane with a total of 4K heart reactions and received cash prize worth P5,000 and SK federation of Guinguinto headed by SK President Landrei Cerdon with LYDO Renato Villanueva won third place with a total of 646 heart reactions and took home P3,000 cash prize.
The remaining federations also received certificates of recognition for their support to YCQ and for the contributions that they have done in their respective communities.
Further, Lance De Jesus, SK President of Calumpit said that their federation will continue to implement projects for their community and also vowed to help the students in their municipality by providing module bags for their studying.
“Patuloy po kaming magsasagawa ng mga proyekto at kamakailan lamang po ay nagsagawa kami ng Agahan Caravan. Nagkaroon din po kami ng sariling relief operation at ngayon po na simula na ang pasukan, napagkasunduan po namin na mag-provide ng module bags sa mahigit 10,000 estudyante sa aming bayan” De Jesus said.
Meanwhile, Fernando expressed his appreciation to the Bulakenyo youth leaders for their contributions and efforts to help the province during the pandemic and said that it proves that the youth are the hope of the country.
“Lubos akong nagpapasalamat sa ating mga kabataang lider sa kanilang mga hakbang na isinagawa at isasagawa pa lamang para tulungan at gumabay sa Pamahalaang Lalawigan sa panahong ito ng pandemya.
Kayo ay mga frontliners din na dapat kilalanin. Ang inyong kasipagan at natural na pagiging lider ay patunay lamang na kayong mga kabataan ang kinabukasan ng ating bansa” the governor said.
Aside from the YCQ, the PYSPESO also launched a program dubbed as the “Responsible Youth Towards a Life readY for the Future” (RYT LYF) as part of the YouthTube online program that aims to bring awareness and knowledge regarding the issues and challenges that the youths are facing. ###
