CITY OF MALOLOS – Valentine’s Day will not only be celebrated by couples who are happily in love but also by Bulakenyos who are in love with nature and environment.
Come February 14, 2019 at 8 am, thousands of Bulakenyos will flock the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium here to participate and support the activity initiated by the Provincial Government of Bulacan dubbed as “KKK sa Barangay: Pananagutan ng Bulacan para sa Kalikasan” to ensure a cleaner and greener environment and to show support to the “Save Manila Bay Project” of the national government.
Former Philippine National Police Chief Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa and former Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go are expected to grace the event as the guest of honor and guest speaker respectively along with the other invited participants including barangay captains and councilors.
The attendees will become well-versed on various topics through a Symposium on the Community Based Rehabilitation Program (CBRP), launching of the Barangay Seal of Good Local Governance and KKK sa Barangay: Pananagutan ng Barangay para sa Kalikasan Project.
As a Father Neri Satur Awardee for Environmental Heroism, Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado shares the importance of taking care of the environment for a better future.
“Ibinabalik lamang sa atin ng Inang Kalikasan ang ibinibigay natin sa kanya. Samakatuwid, kung aalagaan natin at pahahalagahan ang mga natural na yaman na hatid ng kalikasan, patuloy itong matatamasa ng ating mga mahal sa buhay hanggang sa mga susunod na salinlahi. Ngunit kung atin itong lalapastanganin, parusa ang magiging sagot nito sa ating lahat,” the governor said.
Also, the Department of the Interior and Local Government will confer the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Award while the PGB will receive the 2018 Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Silver Award at the latter part of the program.
Meanwhile, on February 16, 2019, all 569 barangays of Bulacan will be having a simultaneous clean-up to ensure a clean environment up to the barangay level. It is also the province’s way to show its support to the nationwide campaign of the national government to protect and save the environment.
Prior to this, Bulacan was also part of the clean-up activity during the launching of the “Battle for Manila Bay” simultaneously done in Rajah Sulayman, Manila; Obando, Bulacan; Guagua, Pampanga; Mariveles, Bataan; and Bacoor, Cavite.
