Bulakenyos support OPM, flock at Sing Ka Band 2017

CITY OF MALOLOS – The jam-packed Bulacan Sports Complex in this city reverberated with Original Pilipino Music as Sponge Cola and Rocksteddy rocked thousands of Bulakenyos in a free concert dubbed as “Sing Ka Band 2017” sponsored by Globe Telecom yesterday.
Pleased by the solid support of the Bulakenyos, Sponge Cola expressed their gratitude by playing their popular songs such as “Tambay”, “Tuliro”, “Makapiling Ka”, “Pag-ibig” and “Coda”.
Yael Yuzon, Sponge Cola’s lead vocalist, encouraged the crowd to support the local bands specifically Lunar Lights, a Bulakenyo band that was discovered on the same event in 2014 and who performed as the front act that night.
Meanwhile, after pausing for a short while due to the raging crowd, the stage was heated up by Rocksteddy through chill music.
Teddy Corpuz, Rocksteddy’s lead vocalist, calmed the audience and encouraged everybody to avoid wild and violent behavior for a safer and peaceful concert.
“Masaya and nakakatuwa kasi active ‘yung mga banda sa pag-connect sa mga tao. Lumalapit and nakikipag-kamay at selfie. Tapos ‘yung mga tao, lahat sila nagsasaya. Kahit ‘yung mga nasa malayo sa stage, alive pa din,” Kristine Andrea B. Arcega, one of the audience said.
Immediately after the concert, fireworks exhibitors including Leegendary Fireworks Inc., Pyrohaven and CPM Fireworks blanketed the night sky with glittering colors through a choreographed fireworks display in the “Pasiklaban sa Singkaban”.
Sing Ka Band 2017, which aims to entertain thousands of Bulakenyos through a music-filled night, is one of the highlights of the annual celebration of Singkaban Festival with this year’s theme “Singkaban Festival 2017: Bulacan, babalik-balikan.”
