Bulakenyos receive over 450,000 food packs

CITY OF MALOLOS – The Provincial Government of Bulacan headed by Gov. Daniel R. Fernando and Vice Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) have already distributed more than 450,000 food packs for the province-wide relief operation in Bulacan as of April 29, 2020.

Initially, the town of Guiguinto received a total of 30,510 food packs from the PGB wherein the town of Pulilan received a total of 28,519; town of Paombong with 13,819 food packs; City of Malolos with 63,726 food packs; town of Balagtas with 19,485 food packs; town of San Miguel with a total of 35,848; town of Bustos with a total of 20,344 and the City of San Jose Del Monte with over 170,000 food packs.

Other organizations and small communities in the province also received relief goods including 1,380 food packs for the Dumagats; 16,382 food packs for the members of 4Ps from District 1; 16,573 from District 2; a total of 20,510 for Districts 3 and 30,338 for District 4; 420 food packs for the Muslim Community in Plaridel town and City of Malolos; 5 sacks of rice and 5 boxes of sardines for the Divine Mercy Shrine; a total of 905 food packs for the JODA members; 794 food packs for the ABSNET members; 200 food packs for the Scorpion Squad in CSJDM; 50 food packs for Bulacan Scout Riders; 30 food packs for the Poblacion Parish Church; 80 food packs for the persons with disability from Brgy. Tinejero, Pulilan and 1,019 food packs for the MENRO/CENRO garbage collectors.

Further, Bulacan State University staff also received 30 food packs while 402 food packs were given to the patients from public hospitals, 66 food packs for the volunteer workers and 64 food packs for the construction workers in the province.

Meanwhile, Fernando said that the PGB is trying to maximize its resources to supplement the needs of the Bulakenyos and donations are also greatly appreciated.

“Ang ating Pamahalaang Panlalawigan po ay nagsusumikap na punan ang mga pangangailangang pagkain ng ating mga kalalawigan. Lubos rin po kaming nagpapasalamat sa mga may mabubuting loob na nagdo-donate sa ating lalawigan hindi lang ng mga bigas at pagkain, maging mga PPE at mga gamit pang proteksyon para sa ating mga frontliners,” the governor said.

The repacking of relief goods at the designated warehouse namely the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium and Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center are still on going for the remaining municipalities in the province.

As of 4 pm yesterday, Bulacan PHO COVID-19 Surveillance reported 114 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 19 recoveries and 24 deaths.
