CITY OF MALOLOS – Sixty four boy/girl officials took their oath of office before Acting Governor Daniel R. Fernando as counterparts of the officials and department heads of the Provincial Government of Bulacan as well as in some judicial and national counterparts during the “Boy/Girl Officials 2018: Pagsasalin ng Tungkulin” held coinciding the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city this morning.

The said Bulakenyo youth headed by Boy Governor Ian S. Barba from Pulilan and Boy Vice Governor Ian I. Glorioso of Santa Maria will serve as public officials for five days.
According to the Provincial Youth, Sports, and Public Employment Service Office (PYSPESO), the said boy’girl officials will be able to experience public service and witness the government employees’ work etiquette.

Fernando urged all the boy/girl officials to maximize the opportunity given to them by learning how it is to render efficient public service and being responsible role models to their fellow youngsters.

“Pulutin ninyo ang mga magagandang bagay na inyong matutunan habang kayo ay naglilingkod sa opisina kung saan kayo itinalaga at hiling ko na kayo ay makabuo ng magandang relasyon at pagkakaibigan sa inyong kapwa boy/girl officials,” Fernando said.

Meanwhile, Boy Governor Barba said that Dr. Jose Rizal, the country’s national hero, was truthful when he said that the youth are the hope of the nation.

“Isa ang programang ito upang makamit ang mithiin ng ating pambansang bayani at mithiin ng bawat isang Pilipino na maging pag-asa ng bayan tayong mga kabataan,” Barba said.

From August 6-10, aside from immersing in their designated departments, said boy/girl officials will participate in the Right Click Seminar, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session, Holy Mass, Lunch with the Governor and a visit to selected departments in the capitol.

The observation of Linggo ng Kabataan is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 56 and No. 99 of former President Fidel V. Ramos in 1992, which is also stated in the provision of Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015. Instead of conducting it on December every year, this year’s celebration is earlier because of the compliance to SK Reform Act, which states that Linggo ng Kabataan should be done near the date of the International Youth Day that is August 12.
