CITY OF MALOLOS – The Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) encourages young and talented Bulakenyo kids to join the Provincial Children’s Congress 2015 this coming November 10, 2015 at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city as part of the month-long celebration of the National Children’s Month.

Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Rowena Tiongson said that young participants from different day care centers and child care institutions in the province will compete in Solo Singing Contest, Drawing Competition, Poem Reciting Competition and Folk Dancing Competition which are all anchored on the theme “Komunidad at Pamahalaan Magkaisa, Pang-aabuso sa Bata, Wakasan Na.”

“The competition will emphasize the children’s right and the continuous support of the government to stop child abuse.

Meanwhile, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that the PGB will always be supportive to the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) with regard to implementing programs and services for the welfare of the Filipino children.

Alvarado also urged different public and private schools in the province to observe the Children’s Month through simple rites and activities and even encouraged the local government units in the province to strengthen their leadership and commitment for the greater protection of children in their respective communities.

The celebration is pursuant to the Republic Act 10661 signed by President Benigno Aquino III declaring the month of November as the National Children’s Month that bids to show the important role of children and what they can contribute in the society.
