CITY OF MALOLOS- The Province of Bulacan’s Socio Economic Profile System (SEPS) Online has bagged the Best in LGU Empowerment Award – Best in Interoperability Award (Province Level) during the Digital Governance Award 2021 held virtually via Zoom last October 29, 2021.
Governor Daniel R. Fernando, who was represented by Provincial Administrator Antonia Constantino, together with Provincial Information and Technology Office (PITO) Head Engr. Rhea Liza Valerio and Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) Officer-in-Charge Engr. Randy Po received the award from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and National ICT Confederation of the Philippines (NICP).
According to Constantino, the award will serve as an inspiration to continue to innovate solutions including delivering better services particularly during challenging times, and to become socially and economically inclusive for the good of the people.
“Digital tools and social media have empowered people to widespread access to information and global connection. We, at the Provincial Government of Bulacan, are using technology to be more transparent, accountable and inclusive,” the Provincial Administrator said.
She also thanked PITO and PPDO and all its staff for spearheading the milestone for the Provincial Government of Bulacan.
SEPS Online made it possible for both public and private institutions, researchers, students and the general public to access the Socio-Economic Profile of a given locality in real time, immediately after the closing of the SEP year in the system, as opposed to the old conventional way that normally takes one whole year before it can be made available to the public.
The DGA is an annual search for best practices in local government units in utilizing information and communications technology (ICT) to effectively and efficiently deliver its public services to its constituents and business stakeholders. ###
