Bulacan wins 6th year of Seal of Good Local Governance award
CITY OF MALOLOS – Among the 18 provincial government passers, the Provincial Government of Bulacan has once again attained its Seal of Good Local Governance award, making it the 6th time in a row in being one of the outstanding provinces in the country.
In an announcement made by the Department of the Interior and Local Government, a total of 350 participating local government units passed the assessment criteria for the SGLG award including 272 municipalities, 60 cities and 18 provinces where Bulacan is included.
Governor Daniel R. Fernando said that the SGLG award is made possible by the combined efforts of the offices and agencies of the Provincial Government of Bulacan who continuously provide exceptional services to the Bulakenyos.
“For six consecutive years, the PGB has been an SGLG awardee. It is because of the joint efforts of our PGB offices that aim to deliver efficient services to our fellow Bulakenyos and create programs that will help the province to continuously achieve progress and development,” Fernando said.
Other winners from the province were the City of San Jose del Monte among the City Government Awardees and the towns of Balagtas, Baliwag, Guiguinto, Plaridel, Pulilan, Santa Maria among the Municipal Government Awardees.
The awardees were selected based on the DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2022-026 wherein the assessment criteria include financial administration and sustainability; disaster preparedness; social protection and sensitivity; health compliance and responsiveness; and, sustainable education while other assessment areas include business-friendliness and competitiveness; safety, and peace and order; environmental management; tourism, heritage development, culture and arts; and, youth development.
SGLG awards is an incentive, honor and recognition-based program which aims to boost the LGUs’ drive to constantly progress and/or sustain their notable performance across various governance areas. ###
