CITY OF MALOLOS – In a bid to achieve a drug-free Bulacan, Vice Governor Daniel R. Fernando and Damayang Filipino, in coordination with the Provincial Government of Bulacan and Bulacan State University, organized a celebrity basketball shoot-out coinciding the week of the opening of classes on August 9, 2018, 1 pm at the Activity Center of the BulSU in this city.
The celebrity shoot-out with the theme “Bola Kontra Droga” will be attended by famous personalities including Mansueto “Onyok” Velasco, Matt Evans, Jason Abalos, Mark Herras, Joross Gamboa, Joseph Bitangcol, Marco Alcaraz, Jordan Herrera, JC Tiuseco and Derick Hubalde.
Fernando believed that the youth could be saved from the dangerous effects of drugs if their attention will be diverted to enjoyable yet worthy activities.
“Isang maganda at healthy na paraan upang maiiwas ang atensyon ng mga kabataan sa iligal na gawain katulad ng bawal na gamot ay ang hikayatin sila na matuto ng isports. Sa pamamagitan nito, hindi lamang nila mapasisigla ang kanilang pangangatawan bagkus ay kaya rin nilang hikayatin ang iba pang kabataan sa magagandang benepisyong dulot nito,” Fernando said.
Furthermore, there will also be a celebrity shoot-out on September 4, 2018 at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Santa Maria and on September 25 at Bulacan Polytechnic College-Malolos.
