Bulacan upholds justice and equality

CITY OF MALOLOS – The Five Pillars of Bulacan continues to uphold equality as they stress the importance of fair trial and immediate civil and criminal investigations during the kick off ceremony of the Five Pillars of Justice Month held at The Hiyas Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city, this morning.

With the theme “Susi sa Pagkakapantay-Pantay,” Bulacan Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that the key to achieve a strong foundation of justice system is the collaborative efforts of all justice sectors that provides equal protection under the law, access to a fair legal process, adequate legal representation and information about legal rights and opportunities.

“Ninanais natin na ang sistemang pangkatarungan ay mayroong malinaw na pagkilala sa tama at mali. Ibalanse ang timbangan. Ipawalang sala ang walang kasalanan at parusahan ang tunay na maysala. Hindi dapat nalulusutan ang hustisya at nadadaan sa palusot ang katarungan,” Alvarado said.

The governor also encourages the community that plays a vital role in justice process, to strengthen their cooperation and commitment on crime prevention and community safety issues engagement.

After the program, the Five Pillars of Bulacan also conducted a Criminal Justice Congress 2015 to develop innovative pathways to public safety that avoids excessive sentencing, increasing quality of indigent defense, strengthening the voices of reform-minded prosecutors, and promoting greater understanding of the civil and criminal systems.
