Bulacan transitioning to new normal, under MGCQ until July 15
CITY OF MALOLOS- Temporary measures such as limited movement and transportation and regulation of operating industries are now relaxed as President Rodrigo Roa Duterte announced last night that the Province of Bulacan is one of the provinces in the country that is under the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) until July 15, 2020.
The Omnibus Guidelines on the Implementation of Community Quarantine in the Philippines defines MGCQ as the transition phase between General Community Quarantine (GCQ) and New Normal.
Governor Daniel R. Fernando encouraged the Bulakenyos to still stay at home and practice the minimum health protocols if going out cannot be avoided.
“Nasa MGCQ na po tayo pero hindi po ibig sabihin natin nito ay malaya na tayo sa panganib na dulot ng COVID. Kaya naman ganun pa rin po ang ating paalala sa lahat, ibayong pag-iingat po ang ating kinakailangan upang mapanatili nating ligtas ang ating mga sarili gayundin ang ating pamilya sa kapahamakan na maaari nating makuha sakaling dapuan tayo ng virus na ito,” the governor said.
Under MGCQ, all persons except those below 21 years old and above 60 years old, with immunodeficiency, comorbidity, and pregnant women, are allowed to go outside their residences but only limited to accessing essential goods and services.
Mass gatherings such as but not limited to movie screenings, concerts, sporting events, and other entertainment activities, community assemblies, and non-essential work gatherings are allowed provided that participants shall be limited to 50% of the venue or seating capacity.
Limited face-to-face classes or in person classes are also allowed, subject to CHED guidelines, thus activities which require gatherings are not allowed.
In addition, indoor and outdoor non-contact sports and other forms of exercise such as but not limited to walking, jogging, running, biking, golf, swimming, tennis, badminton, equestrian, and skateboarding are allowed provided that minimum public health standards are observed.
Also, work in all public and private offices are allowed to resume physical reporting to work at full operating capacity or under alternative work arrangements.
In terms of transportation, limited public and private transportation are allowed to operate.
Furthermore, among the included industries that are allowed to operate at 100% capacity are agriculture, food industry, healthcare, logistics, water, energy, internet, the media, mining and other manufacturing, electronic companies, repair and maintenance, housing and office services, financial services, and BPOs among others.
As for barber shops, salons, personal care establishments, and dine-in services, they are allowed to operate at 50% venue/seating capacity.###
