CITY OF MALOLOS – The Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Gawad Galing sa Kalusugan (GGK) of the Provincial Public Health Office will recognize the outstanding Rural Health Unit (RHU) and City Health Center (CHC) on July 28, 2015, 9:00 in the morning at the The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city.
Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that the program is part of his administration’s seven point agenda to provide quality health care and improve medical facilities in the province.
“Layunin ng programa na kilalanin ang mga patuloy na nagsisilbi at kumakalinga sa kalagayang pangkalusugan ng bawat Bulakenyo,” Alvarado said.
GGK will also recognize RHUs Best Health Practice and LGU Scorecard Green Achievers that determines whether or not a province’s performance is improving.
According to the PPHO, the program’s secretariat, nominees were chosen based on the accomplishment report submitted by the 67 RHUs and CHCs.
Using the checklist, evaluation and site validation were held; each nominee also got their chance to present from which the finalists were determined while the Executive Committee members were the last to deliberate for the selection of winners.
Among the nominees for the outstanding RHU/CHC are RHUs of Angat, Obando, Bustos, Bulakan, Hagonoy, Balagtas, Baliwag, Calumpit, Plaridel and Guiguinto and CHCs of the City of San Jose del Monte and Meycauayan.
For the outstanding Health Practice 2015, the nominees are “Isang Kabanata, Bago Magbinata” of Angat RHU, “Diabetic Care Program” of Obando RHU, “Dugo mo, Buhay Ko” of Hagonoy RHU-I, “Calumpit Breastfeeding Group, Mothers Milk Promoters of Calumpit” of Calumpit RHU-I, “Calumpit Diabetic Controlled Movement”of Calumpit RHU-II, “Kilatis Kutis” and “ STI-HIV Counseling and Testing” of Guiguinto RHU-II, “BHW Protektado-Mahusay na Serbisyo Sigurado” of San Jose del Monte City Health Center and “Bagong Buhay mula kay Nanay-Ugoy, Haplos, Aruga (UHA)” of Plaridel RHU-I.
PPHO Chief Dra. Jocelyn Gomez said winners for outstanding RHU and Health Practice will receive a plaque of recognition and the amount of P30,000 for the first place, P15,000 for the second place and P10,000 for the third place.
Moreover, six RHUs/CHCs will be identified as LGU Scorecard Green Achievers and will take home P50,000 each.
Dr. Nestor Santiago, OIC-Assistant Secretary, Office for Health Operations of the Department of Health is expected to grace the event as the guest speaker.
In 2011, through Executive Order No. 21, the Executive Committee and Technical Working Group was created for the Search for Outstanding RHU headed by Alvarado as chairman and instructed the PPHO to conduct evaluation and site validation for the said award annually.
