Bulacan to launch PGB Market Day
CITY OF MALOLOS – In a bid to assist the province’s agricultural cooperatives, farmers and fisherfolk associations in marketing their products, the Provincial Government of Bulacan will launch the PGB Market Day on March 13, 2015 at 9:00 am in front of the Bulacan Trade Tourism and Business Assistance Center building in this city.
The Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office and the Provincial Agriculture Office designed a partnership to showcase fresh vegetables and fruit produce of District III municipalities; tilapia and bangus of some District I municipalities; and rice from other municipalities in Bulacan.
Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said the fresh produce which will be readily available will not only benefit the PGB employees but also other Bulakenyos from other government agencies, private companies, students, by passers, and tourists.
“The PGB Market Day is scheduled every 15th and 30th of the month, mostly ito ‘yung mga araw ng suweldo ng mga empleyado, kaya dito natin itinapat. Pero ito namang mga produktong ito mabibili sa abot kayang halaga,” Alvarado said.
The governor also added that the activity is like hitting two birds with one stone because it can help enhance the economic activity of the cooperatives, farmers and fisherfolks by increasing their income at the same time provide their fellow Bulakenyos with healthy, fresh products.
