Bulacan to host PRISAA 2016 regional meet

CITY OF MALOLOS – After the successful hosting of Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLRAA) Meet 2016 in Bulacan, it’s now the turn of the young athletes from different private schools in Region III to compete as the Private Schools Athletics Association (PRISAA) Regional Meet 2016 opens on February 18, 2016, 4:00 PM at La Consolacion University Philippines (LCUP) Kalinangan Gymnasium in this city.

More than 40 secondary and tertiary schools in Central Luzon will compete in different sports category such as athletics, baseball, basketball, badminton, boxing, chess, lawn tennis, sepak takraw, gymnastics, track and field, golf, table tennis, taekwondo, swimming, football, judo, cycling and volleyball.

PRISAA aims to continuously discover the best young athletes who will compete in various competitions in the country and even around the world.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Government of Bulacan headed by Governor Wilhemino M. Sy-Alvarado ensures the safety, peace and order around the vicinity where the competitions will be held.

“Nakipag-coordinate na tayo sa ating kapulisan, sa Bulacan Rescue para handa tayo sa lahat ng pagkakataon. Inaasahan natin na magiging mabunga ang palarong ito para sa mga kabataan,” the governor said.

Different sports competitions will be held at various locations including LCUP, Bulacan Sports Complex, Robinsons Place Malolos and City Walk Sports Center.

The winners will represent the region in the upcoming PRISAA National Collegiate Games in April 2016.

PRISAA started in 1953 through the initiative of the then Director of the Bureau of Private Schools Dr. Manuel Carreon, who encouraged the private schools all over the Philippines to join the PRISAA for the purpose of promoting sports and academic competitions.
