Bulacan to host 5th Central Luzon Regional Kab-o-ree
CITY OF MALOLOS – Boy Scout of the Philippines (BSP) Bulacan Council in partnership with the Provincial Government of Bulacan is now ready to be home to more than 3,000 cub scouts from the different schools in Region III for the 5th Central Luzon Regional Kab-o-ree come October 25 to 28, 2018 to be held in Fortunato F. Halili National Agricultural School, Guyong, Santa Maria, Bulacan.
With the theme “Scouting: Commitment to Excellence”, the activity aims to highlight cub scouting as a vital education program that helps institutions in molding the character of the cubs and to provide more meaningful and relevant cub scouts activities geared toward environment through the Better World Framework.
According to Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, instilling to the youth what they are capable of doing for their country at this early stage is essential and will be beneficial in the near future because they will bring the experience and the lessons they learned until they grow up.
“Habang bata pa, magandang mahubog na sila, dahil sa mga susunod na panahon sila naman ang magtuturo sa mga kabataan kung paano maging responsableng mamamayan, kung paano maging laging handa sa anumang sitwasyong ibato sa kanila ng bawat panahon,” Alvarado shared.
The four-day event will be filled with activities including Scout Skills where they will learn knot tying, scout law relay and bandaging; Conquer Halili; Outdoor Exploration; Uncovering Nature; Team Building; and Scout Advancement. Other activities are the Camp Chief’s Night where there will be film showing, That’s My Kab Scout and the Grand Camp Fire where competitions for the best yell and song will be held.
Bulacan also prepared Governor’s Night that will be filled with entertainment and cultural show on the first night and will cap off the event with fireworks display on the last night, the 28th.
Meanwhile, based on the Division Memorandum No. 206, S. 2018, qualified participants are grade three pupils or eight years old and above, and physically fit for activities. It also says there that delegation must have a minimum participant of 45 cub scouts and contingents are advised to bring their own tents and camping gears.
