Bulacan to hold a day of prayer for thanksgiving and unity

CITY OF MALOLOS — In recognition of God’s goodness and blessings to the Bulakenyos, the Provincial Government of Bulacan will hold “A Day of Prayer” dubbed as “Sama-samang Pasasalamat at Panalangin para sa Pagkakaisa at Kaunlaran sa Lalawigan ng Bulacan” on March 11, 2015, 3:00 pm at the Mini Forest, Provincial Capitol Compound in this city.

According to Gov. Wilhemino M. Sy-Alvarado, Bulakenyos have so many things to be grateful and thankful for because this March, several projects will be achieved such as the implementation of the Angat Dam and Dyke Strengthening Project (ADDSP); certification of the public bidding on Bulacan Bulk Water Supply Project as well as the scheduled bidding for the confiscated tea rose marble; and the construction of Malolos-Techno Hub at the 12 hectares of land granted by the national government.

Also, the Bulakenyos should also be thankful for the recent recognition awarded to the PGB, the Certificate of Good Financial Housekeeping (formerly known as Seal of Good Governance) which only construe that the province is being managed well.

“Sa gitna ng mga pagsubok, suliranin at kalamidad na nararanasan ng ating lalawigan, hindi pa rin mapasusubalian ang awa at biyaya ng ating Panginoon na patuloy na ipinagkakaloob para sa ating lahat”, Alvarado said.

More or less 12,000 Bulakenyos are expected to participate in the event that includes different religious leaders and groups, Lingkod Lingap sa Nayon, Mother Leaders, Barangay Health Workers, officials, heads and employees of the PGB as well as the employees from the local and national agencies, teachers and students, non- government organizations and many more.

The event will start with a Holy Mass to be officiated by Fr. Gino Herrera, chaplain of the PGB followed by a short program for the prayer rally.

The Ecumenical Prayer will be led by the Four Pillars of Faith in Bulacan where the Prayer for Peace will be headed by Rev. Joel Lombos of Cadence-Bulacan; Prayer for Unity by Rev. Cesar Sacdalan of Alliance for Values Formation in Bulacan; Prayer for Good Governance by Bishop Bert Chan of Baptist Church and Prayer for Progress and Development by Bishop Efraim Perez of Interfaith-Bulacan. The Bulacan Muslim Affairs Consultative Council will also take part in the said event.

To conclude, the Bulakenyos will sing “Lord Heal Our Land” to be lead by Himig ng Bulakenyo and Hiyas ng Bulacan Brass Band.
