CITY OF MALOLOS – The Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) has set up round-the-clock travel assistance to guide the motorists and travelers passing or heading to the province this Holy Week.
Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that Semana Santa Lakbay Alalay (SUMVAC) 2016 is all set wherein Bulacan Rescue Team as well as its partner agencies and NGOs are now activated to give immediate response in times emergency.
“We will set up an assistance booth and first aid station in the two pilgrimage sites such as Brgy. Kapitangan, Paombong on March 24 to 25; Divine Mercy National Shrine in Marilao on March 23 to 25 and in front of the Provincial Capitol from March 21 to 28.
Meanwhile, for the security awareness of the community, PDRRMO Head Felicisima Mungcal gives safety tips for those leaving their houses this Lenten season and during summer vacation.
“Kung aalis kayo ng bahay, be sure na may titingin sa mga alagang hayop na maiiwan sa bahay, siguraduhing naka-lock ang pinto, tiyaking may maiiwan sa kapit-bahay ng numerong pwedeng tawagan in case na may mangyari sa bahay ninyo para madali kayong makontak, siguraduhin sarado ang tangke sa kusina at ibaba ang main switch ng bahay. Para naman sa sasakyang gagamitin, make sure na walang problema sa gas, nasa good running condition, magsuot ng seat belt, ‘wag na pumunta sa matataong lugar kung malapit lang naman ang pupuntahan at maglakad nalang para makaiwas sa traffic,” Mungcal said.
She added that the public should immediately call the Bulacan Rescue hotline number 791-0566 or 117 which is the emergency hotline of the Department of Interior and Local Government in case an emergency arises.
