CITY OF MALOLOS – The Bureau of Fire Protection Bulacan Provincial Office has recorded a decrease in fire incidents in the Province of Bulacan with a total of 201 cases last 2021.
BFP said that the figure is lower compared to the 2020 statistics totaling to 382. However, higher cases of casualties were recorded last 2021 which is 25 and 19 in 2020.
In line with the observance of Fire Prevention Month this March, Gov. Daniel R. Fernando has emphasized the daily preparedness and continuous education of Bulakenyos about fire hazards in life and property.
“Sundin lamang po natin ang pambahay at pangsagip-buhay na tips tulad ng pagiging maalam, kalmado at pag-aksyon ng nararapat na kilos pag may sunog at higit sa lahat pag-iwas dito,” Fernando said.
With the theme “Sa Pag-iwas sa Sunog, Hindi Ka Nag-iisa”, the lined-up activities include launching of Fire Prevention Month via Zoom application last Monday at 8:00 am coinciding the Monday Flag Raising and a motorcade in the City of Malolos headed by the Bureau of Fire Protection.
Information and education campaign is also being held this month wherein the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Office (PDRRMO) is distributing leaflets, flyers, handbook, poster and tarpaulin in the whole province and the conduct of fire safety inspection in the buildings located at the Capitol Compound and offices and hospitals under the PGB.
Also, the PDRRMO will hold a regular program every Tuesday at 9:00 to 10:00 am in Radyo Kapitolyo where they will discuss the office’s different programs and activities.
Different trainings are also set including Psychosocial Support & Positive Parenting during COVID-19 Pandemic, A Webinar for Solo Parents on March 10 via Zoom application; Basic Aquatic Search and Rescue Training for Bulacan Association of Resorts Owners (BARO) on March 8-10 at Balay, Tiaong, Guiguinto, Bulacan; Disaster Risk Reduction and Management in the New Normal and Emergency Preparedness for Couples for Christ (Bulacan Chapter) at PDRRMO Training Room and Physical Fitness Activity for Bulacan Rescue on March 18; Rope Rescue Training on March 14-18; Urban Search and Rescue (USAR)/ Crashed Vehicle Extrication Rescue Training (CVERT) on March 21-31 and Refresher Course on Fire Safety for PGB Safety Marshals on Macho 30 via Zoom application. ###
