CITY OF MALOLOS – The province of Bulacan has proven once again its excellence in providing health services to the community after receiving several recognitions in the Central Luzon Excellence Awards for Health (CLExAH) 2016 of the Department of Health held at the Royce Hotel, Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga, Thursday afternoon.
Bulacan received the National Tuberculosis Control Program Achievement Award for having achieved both case detection rate and success rate target and was hailed as one of the Top Performing Provinces on Community-Based Donations.
The municipalities of Bustos and Plaridel and the City of San Jose del Monte were also named Top Performing on Community-Based Donations.
Moreover, the municipalities of Plaridel and San Rafael were recognized as Best Mental Health Program Implementers for being able to sustain communities’ well-being, prioritizing the promotion of mental health, protecting human rights and freedom of persons with mental diseases and the reduction of the burden and consequences of the aforementioned.
“Tayo’y natutuwa at napakaraming munisipyo na nakakatugon sa tinatawag nating good governance at binibigyan ng recognition. Recently, naglunsad ang DOH ng programa na may kinalaman sa drugs, more on rehabilitation, cure, and reform. Sabi nga, a good heart and a good health parating kasama ‘yan, kaya naman kaisa ng Pangulo, sinusuportahan natin ito,” Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said.
The governor also said that the government is meaning to achieve a peaceful and progressive community and will always be willing to fight against those who wish otherwise.
“May mga pwersang pumipigil sa kaunlaran at bahagi na ‘yung poverty, ignorance, injustice, isama pa natin sa makabagong panahon, ‘yung kurapsyon at ‘yung droga, pero ito ang nilalabanan natin at hindi tayo titigil,” the provincial chief executive added.
The DOH Region III also recognized the ‘Luntiang Silong’ of the Bulacan Medical Center, ‘Gintong Kanlungan’ of the Guiguinto RHU II, and the Ospital ng Lungsod ng SJDM as ‘HIV satellite treatment hubs with best response on HIV and STI prevention and control’.
Meanwhile, the Bulacan Medical Center was named an Active Advocate of Expanded Newborn Screening.
With the theme, “Sustaining Excellence in Health in 2016 and beyond”, CLExAH aims to give recognition to partners in health for their outstanding performances and significant contributions to maintaining a healthy community.
