Bulacan receives Outstanding Province in the Region Award

CITY OF MALOLOS – The Province of Bulacan headed by Provincial Nutrition Committee Chair and Gov. Daniel R. Fernando has added another feather in its cap after bagging the 2018 Outstanding Province in the Region award from the Regional Nutrition Committee of Central Luzon during the 2019 Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony at The Forum, The Orchid Gardens Resort Complex, Lazatin Boulevard, City of San Fernando, Pampanga earlier today.

Moreover, San Rafael and Baliwag, Bulacan were recognized for keeping their nutrition program implementation on track based on the nutrition standards of the new MELLPI Pro with with Very Satisfactory QNP while Doña Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan was marked with Satisfactory QNP.

Meanwhile, Barangays Lias, Poblacion I and Santa Rosa in Marilao; Barangay Dagat-dagatan in San Rafael; and Barangays San Jose and Santa Cruz in Paombong were also conferred with Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Committees Award while the municipalities of San Rafael, Baliwag and DRT received the award for Quality Nutrition Program.

Other awardees include Municipal Nutrition Action Officers Alma Buhain of Plaridel, Rosita Pineda of Calumpit, Evelyn Dela Fuente of San Rafael, Evangeline Paguntalan of City of Malolos, and Charito Layug of Marilao, Rick Jason Del Rosario of City of Malolos (City Nutrition Program Coordinator), Pacencia Morada of PSWDO (District Nutrition Program Coordinator) for the Long-serving award; and Raquel Tolentino of Piel, Baliwag for the Outstanding Lingkod Lingap sa Nayon in the Province award.

Further, Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholar awardees consist of Raquel Tolentino of Brgy. Piel, Baliwag, Jocelyn Andrade of Brgy. Canalate, City of Malolos and Mary Ann Gregorio of Brgy. Caingin, City of Meycauayan while Lordes Torre of Brgy. Francisco Homes, City of San Jose Del Monte received a Certificate of Appreciation for active participation in the 2018 Regional OBNs Search.

In his acceptance speech, Fernando said that the Provincial Government of Bulacan has a solid track record in the planning, management and implementation of nutrition programs for the health and protection of the people particularly the youth and the children. He also expressed gratitude to the nutrition committee chairs, volunteers, coordinators, nurses, doctors, social workers, provincial staff among others for the said noble task and its support.
