Provincial Government of Bulacan

Bulacan ranks as 10th Most Competitive Province

CITY OF MALOLOS- Another laurel has been added to the Province of Bulacan under the leadership of Governor Daniel R. Fernando as the province claimed the 10th spot of the Most Competitive Province given by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) last January 31, 2022.

The recognition has been the third consecutive year for the province which got the 8th place last 2020 and 9th place in 2019.

It is a huge improvement for Bulacan that ranked 49th in 2018, 48th in 2017, 24th in 2016, and 44th in 2015. This also proves the effectiveness of the economic strategies of Bulacan under the administration of Fernando.

More than the recognition, the governor believed that the success of the PGB’s competitiveness can be measured by the satisfaction the Bulakenyos received from their programs, plans and projects for the people.

“Ipinapakita po sa nakamit nating ito na tagumpay ang ating lalawigan sa pangangalaga sa ating ekonomiya kabilang na diyan ang mga maliliit na negosyo at pagbibigay ng oportunidad na makapagtrabaho. Pinilay man ng pandemya ang ating ekonomiya, hudyat ang pagkilalang ito ng unti-unting pagbangon ng ating lalawigan,” Fernando said.

Moreover, Municipality of Baliwag landed on 2nd place, Municipality of Santa Maria ranked 12th, and Municipality of Marilao placed 16th as the Most Competitive LGU among 1st to 2nd Class Municipalities.

The Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index is an annual ranking of Philippine cities and municipalities developed by the National Competitiveness Council and the Department of Trade and Industry through the Regional Competitiveness Committees (RCCs) with the assistance of the United States Agency for International Development.

The ranking of each Local Government Units (LGUs) is measured through their performance on Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure, Resiliency, and Innovation. ###
