CITY OF MALOLOS- On the directive of Gov. Daniel R. Fernando, Bulacan Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Rowena Joson-Tiongson assured the Persons with Disability in the province of the proper implementation of Republic Act No. 10070 wherein having Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) is included, a PWD General Assembly was held at the Mall Atrium, SM Pulilan recently.
Tiongson explained that though it is also included in the People’s Agenda of the governor, the act establishing an institutional mechanism to ensure the implementation of programs and services for persons with disabilities in every province, city and municipality is being observed in Bulacan, hence has posted a vacancy for PDAO IV to supervise the office under the PSWDO.
“Nagpost ang PHRMO ng notice of vacancy noong January 29 hanggang February 13, masusing siniyasat lahat ng documents as required by the Civil Sevice Commission including their educational background, training, expertise and eligibility, kinakailangan na yung mga nag-qualify ay dumaan sa ganitong assembly at maiharap sa inyo,” ani Tiongson.
There were 12 applicants submitted in the HR, three were qualified and were presented to the people they will be serving in the future and Briccio Aguilar, president of Kasama ka Samahan ng mga Taong may Kapansanan or KASAMAKA in Bulacan suggested that there is no need for secret balloting due to the small number and agreed that they will automatically be included in the list to be reviewed by the Personnel Selection Board and finally to the local chief executive as the law mandates.
Aguilar also said that they are excited to work and do more projects with whoever will be the head of PDAO.
“Salamat at may makakasama na kami na kakatawan talaga sa amin,” Aguilar said.
Tiongson further announced that after 45 days, they will be posting the name of the person who will be appointed to the said position and shared that she hopes to better serve the PWDs in the province.
Prior to this, the attendees showcased their talents to entertain and shared good meals together. They were also educated by Patricia Alvaro, health educator of the Provincial Health Office-Public Health on the status in the province of Corona Virus Disease (COVID19) previously known as the Novel Coronavirus Acute Respiratory Disease or the 2019-nCoV ARD and ways to prevent it.
