Bulacan offers a day of prayer for the province

CITY OF MALOLOS – Hundreds of Bulakenyos held hands while praying for Bulacan and the 44 Philippine National Police–Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) troopers who were killed in a deadly clash in Mamasapano, Maguindanao also known as the “Fallen 44” during the “A Day of Prayer” held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium earlier today.

“Kinakailangan natin hindi lamang ang mga pisikal na suporta nating lahat para mapagtagumpayan po ang programa ng ating lalawigan, maging sa ating sarili, nangangailangan po ito ng suportang ispiritwal sapagkat may mga bagay na hindi tayo magagawa lalo na sapagkat walang perpekto sa daigdig na ito. Ito po’y magagawa lamang natin sa pamamagitan ng tulong ng ating Panginoon,” Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said.
The governor said that through prayers, we ask for forgiveness and strength wherein the voice of the many becomes one in the face of our Lord.

“Sa pamamagitan ng ating nagkakaisang pagdulog sa ating Panginoon, bababa ang Kanyang awa kasama ang Kanyang mga biyaya para sa ating pamilya, para sa ating lalawigan, para sa ating bansang Pilipinas,” Alvarado added.

Meanwhile, Alvarado also said that although SAF-PO3 Junriel Kibete of the “Fallen 44” was originally from Dumaguete and whose wake currently lies at his sister’s house in Barangay Minuyan, City of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan is willing to assist them in any way possible.

Also, the message of Dr. Benny Abante Jr., president of Bible Mode, focused on the clamor for justice for the fallen heroes wherein he explained the importance of truth, justice and peace.

“Ang buong bayan ay sumisigaw ng tatlong bagay, sumisigaw po tayo ng katotohanan, katulad na sinasabi sa Proverbs 20:28 Mercy and truth preserve the King, sapagkat kung walang katotohanan ay hindi magkakaroon ng katarungan. Kailangan natin ng hustisya ayon na rin nga sa Proverbs 21:3 na to do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice at magkakaroon lamang ng tunay na kapayapaan kung mayroong katotohanan at katarungan,” diin ni Abante.

Altogether, the participants sung the theme song of the event, “Lord, Heal our Land” to conclude the event.

A Day of Prayer was made possible through the cooperation of the Four Pillars of Faith in Bulacan headed by their representatives Bishop Bert Chan of the Baptist Church, Bishop Efraim Perez of Interfaith Bulacan, Rev. Joel Lombos of Cadence and Rev. Cesar Sacdalan of Alliance for Values Formation in Bulacan.
