Bulacan is CLRAA overall champion anew

CITY OF MALOLOS – Like a parent to his child, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado is the proudest as he announced that Bulacan is once again the overall champion in the recently concluded five-day Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLRAA) Meet 2017 held at the Bulacan Sports Complex in this city, Friday afternoon.
Based on the records after tallying, Bulakenyo athletes won 109 gold medals, 76 silvers, and 49 bronzes that contributed to winning the title and cemented the road to the Palarong Pambansa.
“Sa ngayon tapos na po ang kaisipang ako’y taga-dito, taga-doon, muli tayo po ay iisa sa Central Luzon. We will act, think, move as one. Ang ating kapalanunan, ang ating kabiguan, we will draw from all the sufferings and experiences; we will draw from the heart of suffering the many inspirations. Lagi dapat nandoon ang pagkakaisa, camaraderie, teamwork, hindi lamang sa palaro,” Alvarado said.
Alvarado also said the Central Luzon is vying to hold the upcoming Palarong Pambansa in the region.
According to Dr. Romeo Alip, Schools Division Superintendent, Division of Bulacan, the province has won 16 overall championships in the said event.
The Division of Bataan placed second with 42 golds, 41 silvers and 30 bronze medals while the City Division of Olongapo ranked third place with 29 golds, 35 silvers and 40 bronze medals.
For special awards, the Most Discipline Delegation was awarded to the Division of Cabanatuan, Most Organized Delegation was the Division of Pampanga and the Cleanest and Eco-friendly Delegation was conferred to City Division of San Jose. They all receive plaques of recognition and cash incentives.
The CLRAA Meet 2017 was officially closed by OIC – Assistant Regional Director Nicolas T. Capulong, CESO V through lowering of the national flag and delegation banners.
