CITY OF MALOLOS – The Bulacan Infection Control Center located at the compound of the Bulacan Medical Center in this city inaugurated today is now ready to accept COVID-19 patients.
Ensuring the safety, care and well-being of the Bulakenyo patients, Gov. Daniel R. Fernando led the inauguration of the Bulacan Medical Center Annex building now named as Bulacan Infection Control Center and assured the public that the said facility is equipped to handle and contain COVID-19 related cases.
Operating 24/7, the facility is offering free health care and meals for the patients and is equipped with air-conditioned rooms.
Moreover, Dr. Protacio Bajao, over all in charge of the said building, said that there will be 30 doctors and 54 nurses assigned in the center who will be on a skeletal schedule.
Fernando said that the actual capacity of the building is 250 but 100 COVID patients will benefit the facility wherein the third floor will now accommodate 50 patients as well as allotted rooms for the holding area of the frontliners.
He added that the patients with moderate cases, suspect, probable and with confirmed COVID-19 case will be placed on the third floor, additional 50 COVID-19 patients with severe and critical condition as well as ten beds for the Intensive Care Units and four dialysis machines will be on the second floor and the first floor is for Emergency Room, Triage, X-ray and Laboratory.
The governor also announced that the mass swab testing will be done right away today and lauded the efforts of the medical staff for their unwavering hard work and dedication in rendering services for the Bulakenyos.
