Bulacan gov suspends classes in all levels to prevent possible spread of COVID-19

CITY OF MALOLOS- From the recommendation of the Provincial Health Office-Public Health and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Gov. Daniel R. Fernando suspended the classes in all levels in the province today as a precautionary measure on coronavirus disease, officially known as COVID-19. The suspension was in line with President Rodrigo Duterte’s Proclamation No. 922 – declaring a state of public health emergency throughout the country due to COVID-19 threat yesterday after announcing that there are four new cases reported in West Crame, San Juan, Santa Maria, Bulacan, and Project 6, Quezon City that brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 24. “Ang ating mga mag-aaral ay inaasahang mananatili sa kani-kanilang tahanan. Hinihiling ko din po na maging mahinahon at patuloy na mag-ingat ang lahat” Fernando said. Meanwhile, the Department of Health announced that in light of the confirmation of localized transmission in the Philippines and anticipation of possible sustained community transmission, they raised COVID-19 alert system to Code Red (alert level 4) sublevel 1. Code red is triggered by at least one local transmission. Moreover, based on the records of PHO-PH as of March 9, all the 10 patients under investigation tested negative and of the 64 persons under monitoring, 57 were already cleared. In addition, the Renewal of Vows in the City of San Jose del Monte tomorrow March 11; Scholars’ General Assembly of the Tulong Pang-Edukasyon para sa Kabataang Bulakenyo program scheduled on March 12; Bola Kontra Droga and Damayan sa Barangay weekly schedules, and Gawad Medalyang Ginto 2020 scheduled on March 13 are also cancelled.
