Bulacan doubles its effort to prevent further spread of COVID-19 virus
CITY OF MALOLOS- Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando immediately ordered disinfection around the Capitol Compound and doubled the province’s effort to prevent further spread of infection as a precautionary measure after receiving reports that there were persons who tested positive of the virus in the area.
According to a report from the Inter-Agency Task Force, 14 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) and six operatives in the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) office located at Camp Alejo S. Santos who tested positive for COVID-19 are currently isolated, hence the immediate lockdown of the said office and disinfection was already done. Close contact tracing and PCR testing of all exposed to confirmed cases are also being completed.
Dr. Hjordis Marushka Celis, Provincial Health Officer II, said that rumors about the lockdown in Bulacan Dialysis Center is not true but only closed for two days to give way for proper disinfection.
Moreover, Atty. Kristine Kay S. David-Manuel, officer-in-charge of the Public Attorney’s Office, said that lawyers and staff in PAO who may have been exposed to the virus and tested positive using rapid test are now cleared after receiving the negative result of the swab testing.
She also stressed that while waiting for the result, they already began disinfection in the office and followed the IATF protocols in securing the area.
In addition, Dr. Jocelyn Gomez, head of the Provincial Health Office-Public Health, said that there are 18 inmates, three jail guards and a nurse at the Provincial Civil Security and Jail Management Office who tested positive.
As a precautionary measure, Ret. Col. Fernando Villanueva, PCSJMO head, ordered to implement a no visitor policy until further notice to prevent further spreading of the virus.
Gomez added that as of the moment, an employee of the PHO-PH who showed mild symptoms and tested positive of the virus is already under quarantine.
Immediate Interventions including office disinfection, quarantine protocols and contact tracing were all done wherein close contact in their workplaces were traced, swabbed and now under quarantine. ###
