Bulacan bags 2017 Seal of Good Local Governance anew
CITY OF MALOLOS – The Province of Bulacan has once again upheld the standards of transparency, integrity and service delivery as it bagged for the third time the 2017 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) during its awarding ceremonies for the Central and South Luzon Cluster held at The Manila Hotel, Manila last Friday.
Bulacan is one of the 448 Local Government Units and 29 provinces that passed the criteria of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) namely financial administration; disaster preparedness; social protection; peace and order; business-friendliness and competitiveness; environmental management; and tourism, culture and the arts.
Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that the SGLG award is another milestone achieved by the province through the joint efforts of the government and its stakeholders.
“Isa na namang buhay na patunay ang karangalan na ito na hindi tumitigil ang ating pamahalaang panlalawigan na lalong pagbutihin ang ating serbisyo-publiko. Sa patuloy nating pagkakapit-bisig para sa ating minamahal na lalawigan, makasisiguro tayo sa isang mas maunlad na lalawigan ng Bulacan,” the governor said.
Also, Bulacan will receive a Performance Challenge Fund from the DILG that could be used to finance various developmental programs and projects for its constituents.
Moreover, municipalities of Angat, Baliwag, Bustos, Guiguinto and Plaridel were also conferred the same award.
The SGLG award was first launched as Seal of Good Housekeeping in 2010 by the late DILG Sec. Jesse Robredo that drives LGUs to aspire for better programs and policies for its constituents.
