Bulacan as modern agri-hub
Fernando lauds Metro Pacific’s high-tech, sustainable greenhouse

CITY OF MALOLOS – Marking a decisive and strategic shift toward high-technology, sustainable farming, Governor Daniel R. Fernando officially visited the Metro Pacific Fresh Farms (MPFF) Greenhouse Facility in San Rafael, Bulacan, recently, hailing the project as a critical milestone for the province’s agricultural future.

Operated through a strategic joint venture between Metro Pacific Agro Ventures (MPAV) and the LR Group of Israel, this facility currently stands as the country’s largest vegetable greenhouse.

It commands attention for its advanced controlled-environment agriculture (CEA) technology, enabling the consistent, year-round production of premium-quality vegetables while demonstrating exceptional resource efficiency—specifically, requiring minimal water and soil inputs.

MPFF has announced ambitious plans to double the facility’s size by 2026. This aggressive expansion plan will solidify Bulacan’s position as a regional leader in agricultural innovation and scale, setting a new national benchmark for modern farming practices.

Fernando underscored the facility’s immense potential to bolster both food security and local economic opportunities for Bulacan’s farming communities.

His remarks emphasized the powerful synergy between the public and private sectors in driving provincial development.

“Ang proyektong ito ay isang malinaw na patunay na sa sama-samang pagkilos ng publiko at pribadong sektor, mapapabilis ang tuluy-tuloy na pagpapaunlad ng agrikultura sa lalawigan at makakalikha rin ng mas matatag na kinabukasan para sa mga magsasaka ng Bulacan,” the governor said.
