Bocaue’s Pagoda Festival-inspired booth wins Bahay Singkaban competition

CITY OF MALOLOS — The Municipality of Bocaue clinched the first place in this year’s Bahay Singkaban: Pista ng Ani, Kultura at Produktong Lokal, a competition of booths featuring the diverse culture and products of each town in the province as part of the celebration of Singkaban Festival 2025.

Bocaueños brought home a cash prize of P80,000 and a trophy for their Pagoda Festival-inspired booth, followed by the town of Hagonoy in second place  with P60,000 and trophy, and the town of Pandi ending their bid in third place with P40,000 and trophy.

Moreover, the municipalities of Bustos, Marilao, and Guiguinto also received P15,000 and trophy each for being hailed as the runners-up of the competition.

The booths were judged according to creativity and artistic execution (30%), cultural representation and authenticity (30%), materials used and sustainability (20%), and overall impact (20%).

Governor Daniel R. Fernando commended the entries this year and hoped that more participants will join in the next year’s Singkaban celebration.

“Napakagaganda po ng mga booth ngayong taon, kitang kita ang effort ng bawat isa upang maipakita ang magaganda’t mayayamang kultura ng kanilang mga bayan. Sana po sa susunod na taon ay mas dumami pa ang mga makasali sa patimpalak na ito, paraan din ito para maipakilala ang inyong tradisyon sa ating mga bisita,” he said.

The event, organized by the Provincial History, Arts, Culture, and Tourism Office, in coordination with the Provincial Cooperatives and Enterprises Development Office and the Provincial Agriculture Office, ran from September 8 until September 12 at the Mini Forest in the Provincial Capitol Compound in this city.  ###
