Baring flagship programs for the province
Fernando takes oath for his third term as Governor of Bulacan
CITY OF MALOLOS – Governor Daniel Ramirez Fernando, who remains the provincial chief executive of the Province of Bulacan, officially began his third term, taking his oath before Executive Judge Hermenegildo C. Dumlao II during the “Pasinaya at Pagtatalaga sa Tungkulin ng Lahat ng Bagong Halal na Opisyal sa Lalawigan ng Bulacan” held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city today.
Addressing a crowd that included 86 newly-elected officials, 139 re-electionists, and 41 returning public servants, the People’s Governor outlined his administration’s key initiatives. These flagship programs include ongoing housing projects for Bulakenyos through the DHSUD Pabahay Program and Global Homes Consortium, the visionary Bulacan Mega City Project, and the establishment of a waste-to-energy facility. Also highlighted were the Bulacan Technohub and Innovation Center currently under construction, the modernization of the Bulacan Medical Center and other district hospitals, vital river restoration and dredging projects, and the development of the Bulacan Farmer’s Productivity Center and Bulacan Animal Breeding Center and Multiplier Farm.
“Marami na tayong nasimulan ngunit marami pa tayong kailangang gawin. Hindi ko po ito makakayang mag-isa. Magtulungan po tayo,” the governor said, encouraging his fellow public servants.
Despite facing numerous criticisms during the recent campaign, Fernando expressed confidence in the democratic process and the trust placed in him by the Bulakenyos.
“Nanaig pa rin ang katotohanan at ang tinig ng mga Bulakeyo. Binigyan tayo ngayon ng panibagong pagkakataon na maglingkod at magtaas ng antas ng ating serbisyo sa mga Bulakenyo,” Fernando, who holds the greatest number of votes among elected governors of the province, said.
Vice Governor Alexis C. Castro also took his oath for his second term, vowing to champion meaningful policies for all Bulakenyos.
“Panahon na upang tayo’y magtatag ng mahigpit, makatarungan, at makakalikasang mga batas at ordinansa na tunay na magtatanggol sa interes ng bawat pamilyang Bulakenyo, mula sa kalunsuran hanggang sa kanayunan,” the presiding officer of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan said.
Castro extended his gratitude to Fernando, acknowledging his trust and the opportunity to realize his aspirations for the province.
“Katuwang mo ako sa iyong adhikain para sa ating lalawigan. Nakaukit na sa pahina ng kasaysayan ang iyong kadakilaan. Magkasama tayong gumawa ng kasaysayan,” Castro added.
Aside from Fernando and Castro, the seven congressmen, 14 board members, 24 mayors, 24 vice mayors, and councilors from all over the province took their oath of office during the event, marking an new chapter for Bulacan’s leadership. ###
