Banda Rito, Sayaw Doon contenders compete for the best interpretation of Bulacans tourism jingle

CITY OF MALOLOS – Showcasing their finest performances, the contenders of the first ever song and dance competition dubbed as “Banda Rito, Sayaw Doon”, competed against each other for the best rendition and interpretation of ‘Bulakenyo, Dangal ng Lahing Pilipino’, the promotional jingle of Bulacan Tourism held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city yesterday.

The band called Bebe and the Cockroaches from San Rafael successfully sang their best version of the tourism jingle during the said band competition and took home P30,000 plus a trophy.

“Kahit madaming challenges at lahat ng sumali magagaling, salamat at nag-enjoy kaming lahat. Bonus na lang ‘yung nanalo kami,” Liezel Olario, the lead vocalist, said.

Other winners were Silent Rage from Calumpit who won second and received P20,000 and a trophy and Alpha from the City of San Jose del Monte who placed third and took home P10,000 and a trophy.

Moreover, the bands The Chit from CSJDM and Dropload from Baliwag both received P5,000 consolation prizes and certificates of participation.

For the Dance Competition, the Balik Tanaw Dance Troupe from CSJDM was hailed the grand winner and took home P30,000 plus a trophy, the BPC Dagyaw from the City of Malolos placed second and won P20,000 and a trophy, the Folk Jumpers from Bustos landed on the third spot and received P10,000 plus a trophy while FCPC Performing Arts from CSJDM and D’ Varona Mardrigraz both received P5,000 consolation prizes and certificates of participation.

As part of the activities in the celebration of Singkaban Festival 2017, Vice Gov. Daniel R. Fernando on behalf of Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, said that the event is one venue to celebrate the talents of Bulakenyos.

“Sa akin, lahat kayo panalo. ‘Yung maipakita ninyo ang inyong husay at talento sa aming lahat, nakaka-proud kayo, nakaka-proud maging Bulakenyo,” Fernando said.

Meanwhile, Board Member Ma. Lourdes Posadas reminded everyone to continue to develop their talents at the same time valuing the importance of education.

“I congratulate all the winners and non-winners. I admire your courage in performing your best pero huwag ninyong kalimutan na gawin din ang lahat ng inyong makakaya sa pag-aaral para sa magandang kinabukasan,” Posadas said.

Dr. Eliseo dela Cruz, head of the Provincial History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office, encouraged everyone to promote Singkaban Festival 2017 and Bulacan by using #BulacanBabalikbalikan when posting on their social media accounts.

“Mahalin natin ang sariling, tulungan n’yo kaming itanyag ang lahat ng maipagmamalaki ng Bulacan,” dela Cruz said.
