CITY OF MALOLOS – Another feather has been added to his cap after Bulacan Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado was once again chosen as among the recipients of the prestigious “Outstanding Governorship Award” bestowed by the international award-giving body Superbrands Marketing International Inc. (SMI) at The City Club, Alphaland Makati Place, Ayala Avenue, Makati City recently.
For the third time, the governor was adjudged as one of the country’s top provincial executive for the year 2016 because of his commendable leadership and tireless dedication to achieve a sustainable and progressive development for the province of Bulacan.
SMI Chairman Karl Mclean and Harry Tambuatco, president and chief executive officer of SMI, presented the Outstanding Governorship Award to Alvarado during the awarding ceremony recently and described him as “a man of profound humility who attributes his success to his great love to his fellowmen.”
“I have always been grateful to the SMI for their appreciation and acknowledgment of my hardwork and enthusiasm as a public servant. This recognition will always serve as a great inspiration for me in providing and implementing programs that will continue to promote the general welfare of my constituents,” Alvarado said.
The international award giving body also recognized the continuing success of the Provincial Government of Bulacan that has been guided by Alvarado’s strategic “Seven Point Agenda” of providing public service in the field of health, education, peace and order, nature and environment, good governance, livelihood, history and culture.
The province also received numerous recognitions and citations under the leadership of Alvarado including the highest recognition given to outstanding local government units in the Philippines known as the Seal of Good Local Governance given by the Department of Interior and Local Government.
SMI also lauded Alvarado for his active leadership as the Chairman of the Regional Development Council in Central Luzon and even commended his efforts in pushing developmental projects in the region including the Central Luzon Link Expressway, Balog-Balog Multi-Purpose Project, Clark International Airport New Passenger Terminal Building Project and others.
Moreover, the prestigious SMI Outstanding Governorship Award were also given to Isabela Gov. Faustino G. Dy III, Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Gov. Mujiv S. Hataman, Davao Oriental Gov. Corazon T. Nunez Malanyaon, Ilocos Norte Gov. Maria Imelda R. Marcos, Cotabato Gov. Emmylou J. Talino-Mendoza, La Union Gov. Manuel Ortega, Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto, Masbate Gov. Homer Bajar Revil and Camarines Sur Gov. Miguel Luis “Migz” R. Villafuerte.
The Outstanding Governorship Award is bestowed on deserving government officials, who, by mandate, are responsible to their constituents. Through that mandate, governors must convey strategic management programs if they are to succeed, the international awards giving body stated.
