More than 4,000 evacuees return to their home after Super TY Karding

CITY OF MALOLOS – A total of 4,760 individuals have safely returned to their homes last Tuesday, September 27, 2022, after being evacuated during the onslaught of super typhoon Karding last Monday.

During their stay at different the different evacuation centers in the province, evacuees were given family food packs (FFP) and non-food items (NFI) including emergency kits containing sleeping mats and blankets through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office.

As of yesterday, a total of 266 families are still housed at the evacuation centers in Obando, San Miguel and Calumpit and are still receiving aid from the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB).

Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando said that the PGB will not let the remaining evacuees to return to their home unless it is surely safe.

“Sinisikap po natin na suportahan ang lahat ng mga pamilyang napinsala ng bagyong ito. Ang Pamahalaang Panlalawigan po ay patuloy na tumutugon sa kanilang mga pangangailangan at naka-alalay sa kanilang muling pagsisimula,” the governor said.

Meanwhile, the province has recorded P415,104,207.07 total amount of damages to agriculture and fisheries due to the typhoon according to the partial and unofficial report by the Provincial Agriculture Office and a total of P10,118,400 damage to livestock and poultry.

PAO Head Ma. Gloria SF. Carrillo said that the Provincial Government is conducting an on-going on site damage assessment to come up with a final plan to address the damages. ###
