Abstract and installation art in the eye of a Bulakenyo artist

CITY OF MALOLOS – A true-blooded Bulakenyo in the person of the abstract and installation artist Andrew Alto de Guzman celebrated Singkaban Festival by opening his 4th One-Man Art Exhibition entitled HomAge: 30 Years of Art yesterday at the Guillermo E. Tolentino Hall, Hiyas ng Bulacan Cultural Center in this city.

The exhibit featured his works during the last 30 years from abstracting the countryside to his quarantine series of the current COVID-19 pandemic including sketches, acrylic on canvas, sculptures and installation art.

De Guzman’s exhibit is also his way of showing his appreciation to his Bulakenyo roots which will be open until September 30, 2022.

He is not only an artist but a heritage advocate and prime mover of heritage conservation in Pulilan and to date has established and helped founded at least seven museums in his hometown.

The multi-talented artist also contributes in the preservation of arts by helping in the restoration of heritage structures including Gabaldon building in Pulilan, Plaridel Church and many more.

His works and services have won him various awards in painting, film, agriculture and social work.

Meanwhile, Gov. Daniel R. Fernando invites all art afficionados to come and visit the exhibit and be mesmerized with the works of a talented Bulakenyo.
