Halamanan Festival of Ilang-ilang, Guiguinto dances to the top of Indakan sa Kalye 2019

CITY OF MALOLOS- The Halamanan Festival of Brgy. Ilang-ilang in Guiguinto emerged as the champion among the 10 contenders and Best in Street Dancing on this year’s Indakan sa Kalye held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city yesterday.

The winning team received two trophies and a total of P105,000 cash prize: P100,000 as first placer and P5,000 for Best in Street Dancing.

Guiguinto Tourism Officer Rene Villanueva thanked the Provincial Government of Bulacan headed by Governor Daniel R. Fernando for continuously supporting the rich culture and tourism of the province.

“Nagpapasasalamat kami dahil we were able to get this time ‘yung first place. Nagpapasalamat din ako kay Governor dahil tuluy-tuloy ang kanyang pagsuporta sa kalinangan at turismo ng Bulacan. Sana patuloy pang pagyabungin ang mayamang kalinangan ng ating lalawigan,” Villanueva said.

Meanwhile, Fernando saluted the Bulakenyo youths who, in spite of the social media era, still enlivens their passion in folk dancing.

“Narito na tayo sa pinakatampok, pinakamakulay at pinakamasayang bahagi ng ating Singkaban Festival. Samahan ninyo ako dahil sa ating taimtim na pagtutulungan, ang ating kultura at kasaysayan ay mananatili bilang matibay na bigkis ng pagkakaisa ng ating mga kalalawigan sa gitna ng ating nagbabagong mundo,” Fernando said.

Moreover, other winners include the Palaisdaan Festival of Hagonoy who bagged the 2nd place and Best in Costume and took home two trophies and P70,000 and P5,000 cash prizes respectively; and Salubong Festival of Plaridel who landed on 3rd place and received P40,000.

Also, consolation prizes were given to the Pasasalamat Festival of Pulilan, Halamanan Festival of Cherubim, Guiguinto, and Tanglawan Festival of City of San Jose del Monte who received P10,000 each.

Meanwhile, the Hiyas ng Hagonoy Folkloric Group was awarded the Hall of Famer award for being the Indakan sa Kalye’s champion from 2016 to 2018.
