Bulacan bags Gawad Edukampyon for ECCD award

CITY OF MALOLOS- The Province of Bulacan headed by Governor Daniel R. Fernando has proven to be a champion of Early Childhood Care and Development as it bagged the Gawad Edukampyon for ECCD-Province Category during the Gawad Edukampyon for Local Governance Awarding Ceremony held at Novotel Manila, Araneta City in Quezon City yesterday.

The award is given to Local Government Units who manifested compliance with ECCD Council program delivery and other standards; and innovative and effective supplementary programs on early stimulation and promotion of proper health and nutrition.

The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office has been the one faithfully handling the ECCD programs of the province.

Fernando, as an advocate of respecting, protecting, and fulfilling the rights of every child to responsive and effective services, vowed to continue to support the ECCD programs in the provincial level.

“Sa lahat ng programa at proyekto ng ating Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ay parating nakasaalang-alang ang kapakanan at karapatan ng ating mga kabataan. Kaisa po ninyo ang inyong lingkod sa pakikibaka para sa isang makabatang kinabukasan,” the governor said.

On the other hand, CEO of Rex Education Don Timothy Buhain saluted the Local Chief Executives for their exemplary performance in fulfilling their sworn duties and delivering public service by ensuring that the learners are healthy, safe, engaged, challenged, supported, and values oriented.

“We see education as something that happens not only in the four walls of a classroom, but as a continuous process from when we first begin to comprehend and understand as children up to adulthood and as we mature and become the best version of ourselves,” Buhain said.

The Province of Bulacan is one of the five provinces that were given the award together with the Provinces of Apayao, Misamis Oriental, Quirino, and South Cotabato.

Also, San Ildefonso and Guiguinto in Bulacan received the same distinction for the municipal category.

Meanwhile, Brgy. Malis in Guiguinto won the Gawad Edukampyon for Barangay Governance while Brgy. Sta. Cruz from the same town was given the Gawad Edukampyon for Justice Security and Disaster Preparedness.
