CITY OF MALOLOS – Among the goods donated by the religious group Iglesia ni Cristo earlier this month, a total of 2,055 Dumagats received food packs through the program “Kumustahan at Talakayan sa IPs sa Doña Remedios Trinidad sa Panahon ng Pandemya” organized by the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office.
The program started last Thursday at the towns of Doña Remedios Trinidad and Norzagaray wherein 1,752 beneficiaries were assisted while there were a total of 303 beneficiaries from the City of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan during the program held yesterday.
Recently, the INC donated 4,000 food packs containing packs of rice, canned goods and packs of instant coffee wherein more than half of them were distributed to the indigent population.
Josephine R. De Mesa, chairwoman of Brgy. San Lorenzo, Norzagaray, expressed her gratitude since their barangay is always among the list of beneficiaries.
“Kami po kasama ng aking mga ka-baranggay ay lubos pong nagpapasalamat sa walang sawang pagtulong po ninyo sa amin pagdating po sa mga ayuda; hindi niyo po nakakalimutan ang Brgy. San Lorenzo kaya maraming salamat po,” De Mesa said.
Meanwhile, Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando likened the said religious group to an instrument of God because they have always been helpful and perform good deeds especially during this time of pandemic.
“May mga ginagamit ang Panginoon na mga tao na ibaba sa atin ang mga biyaya; sa pagkakataong ito ay ang mga kapatid natin sa Iglesia ni Cristo. Lahat po ay kinikilala natin sapagkat ang kailangan natin ngayon ay pagtutulungan, pagmamahalan at pagkakaisa,” the governor said.
Aside from the distribution of relief goods, the PGB is continuously conducting the “Tulong Pang-Edukasyon para sa Bulakenyo” to give aid to Bulakenyo scholars and the continuous vaccination program for the Bulakenyos to fight COVID-19 in the province. ###
