CITY OF MALOLOS – Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado and Vice Gov. Daniel R. Fernando led the turnover of ceremonial check amounting to P 4 million and 4,000 boxes of relief goods worth P 4 million to Department of National Defense Secretary Gen. Delfin Lorenzana (Ret.) as a donation to the Islamic City of Marawi during the Bulacan Day of Prayer held yesterday at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city.

The P 4 million cash donation came from the Provincial Government of Bulacan and from the voluntary contributions of kind-hearted Bulakenyos as well as the P4 million worth of family packs that include rice, noodles, canned goods, milk and other goods.

In his message, Alvarado emphasized the power of prayer and how it can help the Filipinos to achieve peace and order in the country especially in Marawi City.

Meanwhile, Lorenzana expressed his gratitude to the people of Bulacan for the said donations which will be delivered to the victims of Marawi siege. He added that such efforts should be emulated by other provinces in the country.

When super typhoon ‘Yolanda’ hit Eastern Visayas in 2013, Bulacan has also sent a 100-man team composed of relief and medical teams to distribute relief goods and give medical assistance to the victims of the typhoon.

The PGB also gave aids before for the rehabilitation of devastated communities and victims of the wrath of ‘Yolanda’ in Tacloban and other parts of the Eastern Visayas and to Cagayan and Isabela provinces which were badly hit by super typhoon ‘Lawin’.
