Bulacan vice gov celebrates birthday through mass graduation, bloodletting activity

CITY OF MALOLOS – Bulacan Vice Gov. Daniel R. Fernando celebrated his birthday today by gifting the Bulakenyos with livelihood assistance and blood donation.

Fernando, who is also the founder of Damayang Filipino Movement, Inc., led the Mass Graduation of some 247 graduates under the Damayang Filipino Livelihood Program held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city.

Dubbed as “Pangkabuhayan Mo, Sagot Ko Paunlarin Mo”, there were 45 graduates of soap making, 55 for candy making and 157 for massage therapy.

Also, 104 persons were given livelihood starter kits.

“Nais namin na makita kayong may pinagkakakitaan dahil iba na ang may alam, pinag-aralan at may hanapbuhay dahil ito ang magagamit ninyong panlaban sa kahirapan,” Fernando said.

Further, the bloodletting activity was able to encourage 500 screened participants wherein more or less 200 blood bags are expected to be collected and turned over to the Bulacan Medical Center.

“Masaya po ako sa aking birthday dahil nakita ko ang buong suportang ipinagkaloob ng aking mga kababayan at kaibigan lalo na ang Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Bulacan sa pangunguna ni Gob. Willy Alvarado at ng mga bokal,“ Fernando said.

The vice governor also thanked the offices, agencies, volunteers and other personalities who made the event possible including the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bantay Bayan Higway Patrol Group, scholars, Guardians Anti-Crime, Rescue 117, Scout Riders Club, Calumpit Rider, 48th Infantry Guardian Battalion, Goyong Battalion, Bulacan Medical Center, Provincial Health Office-Public Health, Tau Gamma Phi, Bigkis Bulacan Movement, Lt. Col Victor Mendoza, Tech. Sergeant Roger Paguio, local Government units, NGOs, media, and Damayang Filipino Movement Inc. among others.
