Brief description of the service
The Provincial Cooperative and Economic Development Office supports the development and operations of cooperatives in Bulacan. One of their services is the maintenance of statistical data about cooperatives which is updated every semester.

The purpose of this service is to monitor the financial health of member cooperatives so that appropriate assistance may be provided. The well-being of cooperatives is also considered an indicator of the quality of trainings provided by PCEDO.

It is important to the PCEDO that this statistical data must be kept secure.

PCEDO - Record Keeping System

Brief description of the eGovernance Project
This system was designed and implemented by the PITO. The PITO learned that PCEDO was using Excel to keep its files, and took steps to convert this data for use in the new system.

The new system is basically a browser-based records maintenance information system which is used to update information about any of the member cooperatives of the PCEDO. The database maintained through this system is regularly backed-up.

The system has been operational since the first semester of year 2002. The PCEDO has been producing updated reports about the health of cooperatives using the system. Moreover, the PCEDO is confident about the security of their data.
