Nicanor Abelardo
Composer of numerous immortal Filipino love songs (Kundiman) such as “Nasaan ka Irog,” “Bituing Marikit” at Mutya ng Pasig to name a few. Born on February 7, 1893 at San Miguel, Bulacan where he learned to play the piano, violin, guitar and banduria at a young age.

He finished his conservatory in music at the University of the Philippines. Through hard work and ardent love for music, he received the La Violeta Scholarship in America, where he also finished his studies. Nicanor Abelardo died on March 20, 1934 in the Philippines living an array of kundiman masterpieces.
