Bulacan North Food Exchange

Food Exchange is the economic system center for a sustainable community development focused primarily on making the agro-fishery industries globally competitive. Thus, the North Food Exchange is an agricultural and fishery products exchange center (wholesale and retail) designed to modernize food distribution. It will host agri-industrial utilities and services in its 130 hectare area. The NFE is likewise designed as a show-window for Philippines as well as Southeast Asia global products. It is also an information and learning center.

Components

The North Food Exchange will host several components and construction will be done by phase:

1.    Transport Interchange
2.    Produce and Wet Market
3.    Dry and Cold Storage Facilities
4.    Slaughterhouses for Hog, beef and Chicken
5.    Fish and Seafood Processing Plants
6.    Vegetable Processing Center
7.    Export Processing Center
8.    Industrial/Export Processing Zone (Light to Medium Industrial Plants)

Strategic Advantage

1)    The NFE is approximately 29 kilometers from Metro Manila, the Philippine's premier urban center;
2)    Bulacan is the gateway to the northern provinces of the Philippines;
3)    The NFE has access to and thru the North Luzon Expressway, Northrail and MacArthur Highwaythe 3 major transport networks in Luzon;
4)    Strong & active public-private sectors collaboration is present in the province;
5)    Bulacan and the rest of Northern Luzon are major producers and suppliers of agricultural products in the country; and
6)    Bulacan has very good business environment being awarded as Most Business-Friendly Province in the Philippines for 3 consecutive years from 2004-2006.

Bulacan Housing and Agro-Industrial Projects - BUHAI
(Norzagaray, Bulacan)

The proposed site as 160 has. property in Norzagaray, Bulacan. As an model community, it will be provided with affordable housing, light to medium scale industries, cattle farm and various accompanying utilities and waste processing utilities.
Proponent: Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) thru North Luzon Railways Corporation (Northrail) and Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB)
Implementing Agency: Provincial Government of Bulacan
Cost: $1.3 Million
Market: Residential Community for 10,500 families. Industrial Complex for local and foreign locators
Cooperation Sought: Industrial estate development thru Build-Operate-Transfer Scheme

Bulacan Central Bulk Water Supply

The proposed project will provide treated bulk water supply to the eight coastal municipalities under the water districts. The water system will have a production capacity of approximately 90,190 cubic meters per day using ground water for Phase I-A and about 230,000 cubic meters per day to be sourced from the Angat-Umiray Transbasin Project for Phase I-B.
Proponent: Bulacan Water Corporation
Implementing Agencies: Local Water Districts of Balagtas, Bocaue, Bulacan, Guiguinto, Malolos, Marilao, Meycauayan, Obando as represented by the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA).
Cost: $169 Million
Market: 120,000 households, 20,000 commercial/industrial users
Cooperation Sought: Build-Operate-Transfer Scheme; Bid Challenge

Proposed North Fairview Tollway

This is a proposed 20 kilometer road network connecting Eastern Bulacan (City of San Jose Del Monte, Pandi and Sta. Maria) to Central Bulacan (Balagtas, Marilao, Guiguinto). This will ease up traffic in the North Luzon Expressway and MacArthur Highway and will provide an alternative transport route via Quezon City.
Cost: US$ 16 Million
